As a fiber optic fusionist, you will play a crucial role in delivering the final product to our customers. You will have a direct impact on the reputation of excellence that we wish to maintain, as well as on the image projected to our customers. Your concern for precision work will be the basis of our success.

Under the responsibility of our Construction Manager, you will be responsible for the fusion and installation of fiber optics on our various mandates.

Responsibilities. What you will need to do.

Perform fiber optic fusion using fiber optic fusion equipment to ensure a reliable and high-quality connection;
Diagnose and resolve optical signal continuity and attenuation problems;
Work on network infrastructures located at height, underground and in confined spaces;
Install and connect the optical fibers in the fusion enclosures according to the drawings provided;
Work closely with the construction, design, drafting teams, to ensure seamless installation and connectivity for our customers;
Comply with the safety standards associated with the use of fiber optic fusion equipment;
Perform necessary tests and inspections (OLTS and OTDR) to ensure the proper functioning of fiber optic networks

The requirements. What you need.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in fiber optic fusion;
Hold a class 5 driver’s license;
Knowledge of OTDR and OLTS tests;
In-depth knowledge of fiber optic fusion techniques;
In-depth knowledge of safety standards relating to the use of fiber optic fusion equipment;
Holding the ASP Construction card, an asset;
CFOT, CFOS/D, CFOS/O, CFOS/S and CFOS/T certifications are an asset;
Certification for Working at Heights, Tower Rescue and Confined Space, an asset
Ability to read and understand plans;
Excellent manual dexterity;
Ability to work in a team and collaborate with other stakeholders;
Rigor and attention to detail.
